This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it and what you can do about it. It covers the website at yourbrorob.com and the Your Bro Rob app at app.yourbrorob.com, both operated by Your Bro Rob Fitness (Robert Agarand), Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
Who we are
Your Bro Rob Fitness is an online fitness coaching business run by Robert Agarand in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. For anything in this policy you can reach us at robertmatthew@protonmail.com.
What we collect
Account information. If you create an account in the app, we collect your name and email address, and a password that is stored in hashed form. We never see your password.
Training and nutrition data. Anything you enter in the app: body weight, measurements, workouts and the weights you lift, food and macro logs, progress photos you choose to upload, goals, injuries and preferences you tell us about so your plan can be built around them.
Device and usage data. Standard technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring page and rough location derived from the IP address. This is collected automatically when you visit the site or use the app.
Messages. If you email us or use a contact form, we keep the message and your email address so we can reply.
How we use it
To create and run your account, to build and adjust your training and nutrition plan, to show your progress back to you, to answer your messages, to process payments for paid tiers, to keep the service secure, to understand which pages and features are used, and to measure our advertising.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your training data with advertisers.
Cookies and similar technologies
The site uses cookies and similar storage for three purposes: keeping you signed in, understanding how the site is used, and measuring and serving advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will break sign-in.
Third-party services we use
Google AdSense serves advertising on the site. Google and its partners may use cookies and device identifiers to show and measure ads, including personalised ads.
Google Analytics and Google Search Console help us understand traffic and search performance.
Meta Pixel (Facebook) measures the performance of our advertising and helps us reach similar audiences.
Stripe processes payments for the Ad-Free subscription and coaching. Card details go directly to Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
Supabase provides hosting, authentication and database storage for the app and its data.
Each of these providers handles data under its own privacy policy.
Advertising cookies and how to opt out
Advertising cookies record things like which pages you visited and which ads you saw, so that the ads you are shown are more relevant and so that we can tell whether our advertising works. They do not contain your name or your training data.
You can turn off personalised Google ads at https://www.google.com/settings/ads and adjust Meta ad settings at https://www.facebook.com/ads/preferences. You can also clear or block cookies in your browser at any time.
How long we keep data
Account and training data is kept while your account is active and for up to 12 months after you stop using the service, so you can come back without losing your history. Payment records are kept for seven years as Canadian tax rules require. Analytics and advertising data is kept for the retention periods set by those providers, typically 14 to 26 months. Email correspondence is kept for up to two years.
Requesting a copy or deletion of your data
Email robertmatthew@protonmail.com from the address on your account and ask for a copy of your data or for it to be deleted. We will action the request within 30 days. Deleting your account removes your training data, logs and photos. Records we are legally required to keep, such as payment records, are retained.
Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with access controls on our hosting provider. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information and we will notify you if a breach affects your data.
Adults only
This service is for adults aged 18 and over. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
Where your data is handled
We are based in Alberta, Canada. Our service providers may process and store data in Canada, the United States and other countries. This policy is governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the applicable federal laws of Canada.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date at the top. Continuing to use the site or the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
